NURUL AZIZ

 Assalamualaikum. Hi.

Here, I present to you our kitchen's current condition. These past few days were challenging for me. It started during the weekend when I suddenly felt the urgent need to repaint our master bedroom. You know those days where you feel like you can do anything and you are so artsy and patient and you can finish a room makeover in a day. Bahaha. So I transferred everything from the master bedroom to the guest room. All by myself. Because Arrif and I had a small argument. He said, it's better for us to hire people to do that but I want to do it on my own because come on, it's just a paint job. We can do it ourselves. Besides, hiring people going to cost us extra money and I don't want to bear that cost. I love a little DIY and Arrif doesn't. So you figure, who's right and who's wrong here.

After both of us have cooled down, I told Arrif why not we add another plug point inside the room because we currently only have one plug point and it is located so far away from our bed and it annoys me to see the extension wire laying on the floor. Suddenly I added another extra cost. But wait, that's not all. I have another brilliant idea. After Arrif roughly calculated the cost of the wiring, I pause for some time and I came out with another idea. Why don't we install plaster ceiling in the bedroom so that we can avoid the cost of drilling the wall for wiring? Hahaha. Don't ask me where's the logic. From a little DIY project to plaster ceiling real fast. I also don't understand my (PMS) brain. But Arrif agreed to that and now we are still waiting for quotations for the plaster ceiling, wiring and painting. Yup, Arrif convinced me to let professional do their job including the paint. Tsk. And we are now living a nomad live in this guest room.

Yesterday, our kitchen contractor came to reinstall one of the cabinet door knob. It fell off and we can't reinstall it on our own because the knob thread is too short. Little did I know, they also change the hinges of the cabinet doors for I a reason I don't understand. And that required some drilling. For a day I wonder why there were dust everywhere I step. I just know about the drilling part today but I just don't have the willpower to be mad because I'm so tired today.

Why am I tired today? It was hot nowadays yeah? I had (what suppose to be) a short meeting at a client place. The appointment was at 10.00am. I was on my way when I got a call from the client. He had another meeting so he asked to postpone it to 10.30am. I can wait for 30 minutes, no problem. Long story short, I had to wait for an hour and a half in a airconless lobby. I went back to the office after that and went back home around 2.30pm because it's PKPB and we can only go to the office 3 days per week, 4 hours each day. I haven't had lunch at that time because I usually have my lunch at home since PKPB.

We are waiting for our food when Arrif told me there's no water. It's not possible because we didn't received any notice about water disruption. We were not affected when the whole Selangor face water disruption so why now? And then someone gave salam at our door. It was the contractor from the house below our unit. They just drill thru the ceiling and puncture our pipe so they close the water supply to our house. That's not the worse part. The worse part is they need to hack our floor so that they can repair the pipe. I was mad at that point. Not at the contractor but at our downstair neighbour. Just who the hell install a ceiling fan at a kitchen that small. Just put an aircond if you are that puteri lilin. Ooh the dust we have in the house after the floor hacking. We need to wait for the cement to harden before we can have our water back. I was about to clean the kitchen after Maghrib when I opened the kitchen tap and there's no water coming out of it while other tap in the house are working just fine. Arrif called the contractor and he said he will look into it tomorrow. We won't have water in the kitchen until the contractor figure out what's wrong. I don't bother cleaning the kitchen yet in case they are going to hack the floor back. So there goes why our kitchen looking like tongkang pecah right now.

There goes my disaster at home story. Ooh and guess where I had my lunch today? In the guest room aka our current bedroom. What a sad life. Please just let me have the weekend now!

I'm sorry you have to read my rant but thanks for reading anyway.

 Assalamualaikum. Hi.

How are you doing? I'm good. I miss blogging a lot but I don't have too much free time to update my blog. I'm working on weekends now because I need to replace 22 days of not working during MCO. We actually have two options, either take annual leave for those 22 days or work at least 2 days (on weekend) a month for 11 months. But I don't have 22 days of annual leave laying around so working on weekends it is.

Today is Hari Malaysia. Selamat Hari Malaysia to all Malaysian. I spent this precious holiday by went out to get nasi lemak and coffee this morning. I slept for 3 hours after I had the nasi lemak. I slept at 9.00 pm last night because I was too tired after work and woke up around 12.00 am because of storm and also because I felt uneasy since I hadn't perform my Isya' prayer. The storm stopped right after I finished my prayer. I can't stop thinking it was the way Allah reprimand me for not performing my prayer first before I go to sleep. I was planning to wake up at 3.00 am actually but Allah knows best. I can't sleep after that as I felt fresh so I continue scrolling my phone until 3.00 am. That's why I felt sleepy after having the nasi lemak.

Around 11.30 pm, I woke up and had some coffee before I started cleaning the house. I hadn't vacuum and mop the house for almost a month because I was too busy and too tired to do it. Arrif (again) offered to hire cleaner to clean the house but I just don't trust other people's work. Hahaha. I don't think I'm fussy but I just have my own standard. And I rather he use the money to buy me more coffee (I'm on my second cup of coffee now. Guess who's going to have hard time sleeping tonight?) It was a torture for me to live in that kind of environment for almost a month but I just turned blind eyes. I also sorted unwanted clothes and even took pictures of the pieces I'm planning to sell. I still need to edit and upload them to Carousell and sort and fold those I want to donate and recycle. I don't know when I'm going to do that. I was planning to do it this evening. But (again) I'm already tired of cleaning 3 weeks' worth of dust. Arrif had his share of dusting the spider webs and he slept the whole evening after that. Hahaha. I plan to spend the rest of the evening reading. In fact, I was reading before started picking up my phone to blog this. Yup, I'm blogging from my phone today because this is going to be a quick and short update and also because I miss blogging so much but I don't have the will power to sit down and write properly from my laptop.

I have plenty of things I'd like to write but I'll do it when I have the luxury of free time later. I hope that day will come soon.

So we cannot upload picture to blogger from phone? Okay then.

Nevermind I open my laptop just to upload this picture. I present you Corona The Cat (because she came to the house during MCO) who now a mother of four kittens.

Assalamualaikum.

I used to wash my telekung at self-service laundry because that's where we (read: Arrif) do all of our laundries. I wasn't sure if it was the laundry's washing machine or dryer but it made clothing worn out faster especially delicate telekung. I learnt it the hard way with my Siti Khadijah telekung. I didn't realize it at first. Then I compared mine with my mak's and realized mine has turned yellowish and the fabric has become softer. Since that day, I usually handwash all of my telekung. Actually, I still wash them using self-service laundry's washing machine because as I observe, it's not the washing machine that causes the worn-out problem but the dryer does. My laziness still gets the best of me.  Hahaha. But most of the time, I handwash them.

I have favourite telekung. An RM25 telekung that I asked my best friend to buy for me from Pasar Siti Khadijah, Kelantan. It is my favourite not because my best friend bought it for me. I paid for it so no sentimental value there. Hahaha. I always love simple cotton white old school telekung but it is so hard to find them nowadays. Most telekung today are heavy with embroidery and so colourful. Some also have flowery prints which repel me hahaha. I also don't really like their face area because the fabric there is thick so it doesn't dry easily and leave bad odour even I normally hang my telekung. Unlike the old school telekung, their face area isn't thick. So this old school telekung is my favourite because it (is);

1. White
2. Cotton
3. Has subtle embroidery
4. Has thin fabric in the face area
5. Fabric neither too soft nor too hard
6. The only old school telekung I own

But something sad happened to my favourite telekung last week. I hand washed and air dried the telekung at balcony as usual last weekend. The sun shone brightly that day. It was windy too... and so the top part of my telekung was gone with the wind. I didn't panic at first because the lower level has a roof and I didn't see my telekung anywhere on the roof as I scanned for it. I thought it must've fallen on the ground. Usually, when anything dropped from any house, the item will be put on the table near the lift so the owner can pick it up there. I thought I can get my telekung back that way too. A few seconds later as I continue scanning the roof, I saw my telekung on the other side of the roof. I panicked and told Arrif about it but he said it will fall to the ground soon since this area is always windy. So I calmed down not because I'm confident it will fall to the ground by itself but because the roof is always clean without any fallen clothes or rubbish so I thought the janitor must've cleaned it regularly.

It is day 3 today but my telekung is still there. I feel sad every time I think about the telekung. The telekung must feel sad too down there and wrote an essay titled Aku Sehelai Telekung. Arrif checked the roof this morning (finally after three days of me making a sad face every time I look at the telekung). He said he can almost touch it with his hand so he will try to get it using a stick after work this evening. I hope I can get my telekung back this evening. I can't even bear to think of buying a new telekung while the telekung is still there. I have no problem throwing unwanted things but when it comes to my favourites, I can be dramatic like this. Hahaha.

UPDATE: As I mentioned above, Arrif said he will try to get the telekung using a stick but the rain beat him to it. Arrif saw my telekung was already on the ground when he arrived there after work. I'm so thankful I got back my telekung.

But there's a lot to do before I could use it again 😢. I tried washing it last night but there is still a lot of stain and dirt that won't come off. I decided to soak it with soap and see if I can remove those today. Pray for my telekung guys and if you have any tips for me to remove the stain and dirt, please let me know.

Assalamualaikum.

I hope it's still not too late to wish you Selamat Hari Raya. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize if there are any of my writings that hurt you or anger you.

How was your raya? I hope you have a good one despite this current situation. I can summarize mine in five words. Just like normal MCO days. Okay, there were slight differences but it's almost like any new normal days.

We took this picture on the raya morning

We didn't buy any baju raya because I figured we won't really beraya after all. Moreover, I have four pairs of baju kurung with my tailor in Terengganu. So we just wore what we have just for the sake of pictures and video calling families. Hahaha.

VC with Arrif's family

VC with my family

Guess what did my ayah do on the raya morning. Potong rumput. Hahaha. There were only Iqa, my little sister left at the house with my parents so they literally didn't raya at all. Guess where was my mak. Hand washes clothes in the bathroom. My parents sure have weird ways to cope with the sadness of missing their children. Since we didn't manage to speak with mak during the morning VC session, Ira tried calling her again that evening but to no avail. Apparently, she was at our aunt's house, beraya together with Angah, my little brother (the one in purple baju Melayu), and her wife. Luckily Angah came back that afternoon after beraya with his in-laws. I don't like raya but when this happened, it hurts me because I know my parents must've felt lonely without their children. They never show their sadness neither they speak about it because they know how those can affect their children. We only managed to speak properly with mak on the second day of raya. Such a pro in hiding that one.

Enough with the sad story. Next is food. On the last day of Ramadhan, Ira cooked beef rendang while I cooked mandy chicken. Arrif bought lemang, creampuff, cheese tart, and brownies. I bought frozen ketupat palas. Our neighbor also gave us some beef rendang and lemang rebus(?). I'm not sure about the lemang rebus. It was wrapped in banana leaves. Let me know if you know what is it called. We were well prepared in the food department huh. Hahaha. I don't think I have any pictures of the food because well, I don't really take pictures.

After all those pictures and VC sessions, the three of us went back to our normal MCO activities. I played The Sims 4 all day long.

That's how I spent my first day of Raya during CMCO. Tell me yours!

Assalamualaikum. Hi.

Happy Ramadhan everyone. May all of us have a blessed Ramadhan and may our Ramadhan will be full of ibadah and good deeds.

Today marks the 8th day of Ramadhan. I always love Ramadhan but this year is another level. I don't know about other people but I love this year's Ramadhan a lot more if compare with past years. Put COVID-19 and me missing my family aside ;

I like the fact we don't have bazaar Ramadhan this year because one, I hate crowded places but I still need to go to the bazaar because I'll be too tired and too lazy to cook after facing traffic jam on my way back from work. Two, because my fridge is (almost) free of leftovers nowadays. Arrif has this bad habit of buying a lot of food at once. On weekends where we usually went to Putrajaya's bazaar, he spent over RM50 although there were only two of us. All the leftovers ended up in the fridge and I'll have a headache arranging all the food inside the fridge. He finished them eventually. Little by little because he'll have a little bit of everything on his plate every day like a mini buffet. Luckily he's not that picky. According to him, the microwave can fix everything. Hahaha. I was guilty of spending excessively at bazaar too but unlike Arrif, I don't really eat leftovers unless I really like the food. Hence many of my food usually went to the bin and that made me feel guilty. I haven't throw any food (yet) this year and that makes me feel good about myself.

Since I started working during the fourth day of Ramadhan, I like how early I reached home every evening after work that even after cooking, I still have some time to relax before buka puasa. I had help too since Ira is still at my house. It's not like Arrif doesn't help in the kitchen but I don't trust him with cooking. A few days ago I asked him to put prawns inside the sambal only when the chili paste is cooked but of course, he put it before that. It was funny because I was skeptical he can get the timing right but he said he know how uncooked chili can cause stomachache hence he won't let that happen. So confident.

I don't know if you'll judge me if I said this, but I prefer to do tarawih alone, inside my comfy room, at my own pace, taking my own sweet time. So when tarawih at surau/masjid is not allowed this year, I feel relieved because I don't have to feel guilty of not going to surau/masjid. I know it's up to us if we want to go to the surau/masjid or not but I still feel guilty watching everyone's post on social media. I know it's a selfish and bad thing to be glad about but anyone with me? 😭

We may not be able to go back to our hometown for raya this year and we won't have our usual raya too because of COVID-19. Guess who's happy about that? Me! Of course, I want to go back to my hometown. I've been missing my family so so much to the extent I'll video call home few times a day just to report petty things like Ira bothering me, Ira this, Ira that or ask unimportant questions like do we need ginger in singgang asam pedas or can we substitute anchovies with pati bilis (read: budu) inside sup sayur bayam (turns out my mak use sardine, not anchovies in her sup sayur bayam). Sometimes mak don't even have to talk. She just needs to put the phone close to her and I'll watch her doing her stuff. I'm such a psycho. Hahaha. That being said, I'm sad I can't see my family but at the same time, I'm happy too because we won't have our usual raya because I dislike our raya culture. I don't get raya festivity. I know raya is a legit celebration in Islam but I also know the way we celebrate it is not right either with all the excessive preparation from clothing, food, duit raya, etc.

Deep down, me disliking raya stem from my hate to mak cik bawang. Hahaha. I mean I hate mak cik bawang all the time but I don't see them every day and I avoid them like plague throughout the year. But I can't avoid them during raya because there's visiting each other's culture. I' have mak cik bawang bothering me every year since forever. I know everyone hates and faces mak cik bawang too but it depends on individual tolerance. I have a very low tolerance when it comes to mak cik bawang and it easily shows on my face hence I'm so thankful for this year's situation. But I still think the way we celebrate raya is excessive causing it to lose its meaning.

I also hate some lagu raya hahaha I really have problems with everything related to raya. Some because of their lyrics because they contain "miskin hina" in them. Some because it reminded me of my late grandfather. I think the last time I enjoyed raya was when he was still alive and that was 20 years ago. I miss him a lot. Oh my, I can't talk about him without shedding tears. His existence was one of the reasons why I had the best childhood. I love him so much so can you please sedekah Al-Fatihah to him?

His bracelet when he performed his hajj. I'm not sure if Jemaah from Malaysia still needs to wear this bracelet or not but during that time, they wore this.

Assalamualaikum. Hi.

It's currently 3.50 am. I can't sleep because I had two mugs of coffee yesterday.  My last blog post dated 22nd March 2020. That was a week into MCO. I didn't blog despite all the free time I have because first, I have no idea on what to blog. I have a few reviews I wanted to write but I didn't feel like writing them yet and now I just don't know if I should even write about them or not. Second...
Alright, I'm out of excuse. I'm just lazy and words really hard to come by nowadays. It sounds dramatic. It's the hour I think. It's so serene during this time of the night. No wonder we Muslims are encouraged to wake up at this hour and do qiamullail. Anyway, I wrote a post in Malay and didn't finish it because it was hard to hold my tears. It wasn't a sad post but it made me cry. I'll post it if I'm able to finish it later. That being said, I also don't blog walking nowadays. I'll try to visit your blog soon and approved and reply to all of the comments later.

It is the fourth week of MCO. Actually, I lost count of the week so do correct me if I'm wrong. How's everyone doing? I went out twice. First to get a refill of my medicine and second to buy groceries because it was hard asking Arrif to buy something without me looking at the items. He bought canned spread (tuna, salmon, etc) when I asked him to buy canned dishes (curry beef, rendang chicken, etc). No worries, he's a pro now though he bought random brands of fresh milk but that's okay because I found my new favorite. Goodday Balance is so good in my opinion. Also, the canned dishes weren't available at AEON near my house so not Arrif's fault. Other than that, I never get out of the house.

I know the hype for Dalgona coffee is over but I'm still into it. When I said I drank two mugs of coffee yesterday, it was actually Dalgona. I like it because it is easy to make if compare with my usual French press coffee. On my lazy days which is almost every day, I'll just pour cold fresh milk from the fridge into a mixture of hot Nescafe and sugar. I simplify the recipe by removing the beating process. If I feel like Dalgona, I beat the mixture straight inside a mug and pour fresh milk after that. It's not beautiful but it tastes the same in my opinion. Today I beat the mixture inside French press beaker and had it straight from there. It wasn't a classy sight.

When MCO started, I vowed to read three books. We still didn't know MCO will be extended this long during that time so by right, I need to finish three books at the end of the first phase of MCO. Guess what. I still have 100 pages left before I finished that little challenge of mine. If you read this post, I started strong. I finished two books in two days. At that point of time, I was optimistic I can finish at least four or five books. What a joke. But reading makes me feel so good. Like I'm doing something useful with my free time.

That might leave you with a question. What did I do if I don't blog and read during my free time? I do random unproductive stuff.

A lot of people take this time to watch a lot of movies and dramas. I don't do much of watching. I finished Itaewon Class and after that, I watched Catch The Ghost because of Kim Seonho, the guy from 1 night 2 days. He's my new eye candy by the way. It wasn't until episode 8 I started to watch the drama because of the drama itself. If you ask me, it is a good drama if it wasn't for the female lead character. She was just annoying with her determination and all. I just finished Welcome to Waikiki 2 yesterday. It's a light drama, I watched it while playing games. After that, I watched Door Lock, a thriller Korean movie. Not my type of movie but I watched it anyway because of the interesting synopsis. The same day I watched Door Lock, I watched The Con Artist and today I watched Extreme Job. I'm a sucker for comedy. Doesn't matter the main theme, crime, action, medical as long as they have comedy element, I'm good. I'm sorry but I'm not one of those movie/drama audiences that seek serious, factual, or deep stories (except for sci-fi because I loveee sci-fi). Series like Black Mirror and movies like The Platform and Vivarium make me feel literally nauseous. My soft heart can't take them.

My phone took most of the time from me as usual. I'm not on social media a lot (except for Twitter hehe). Wait. Come to think of it, I wasn't with my phone that much either. I think it is my sleeping pattern. Can you believe I woke up at 10.00 or 11.00 am nowadays? My sleeping pattern has become haywire this past two weeks. I woke up, did house chores, and/or exercise. After the shower, I'll have brunch while watching whatever I was watching. Then it's Zohor. I usually open my laptop after my Zohor prayer to play The Sims 4 (I restart every few days so no progress). Yeah, that's about it. Oh, I just downloaded Plato a week ago and have random people in our group. So far we have my husband, my little sisters, my best friend, my best friend's sister who is also my little sister's friend, my little sister's best friends which one of them also friend with my best friend's little sister. Hahaha. My personal favorite would be Conspiracy but it was hard to gather six members. It's been two days since we last played Conspiracy. But we still play other games together every day. Most of the people in our group are night owls. For example tonight we started at 10.00pm and finished at 2.30 am with all sorts of random things in between games like putting kids to sleep, having late dinner, playing other games (The Sims 4 for me) and work.

Well, I think that's all for now. I just hope I can finish the third book. Ramadhan also not far away, I need to up the ibadah game. Alright, that sounds wrong but you get it, right? Stay safe everyone. May we able to go through this crisis quickly.

Assalamualaikum. Hi.

Malaysia is under Movement Control Order (MCO) right now due to COVID-19. I don't want to talk about the MCO itself because I can no longer process all the negative ridiculous things Malaysian did during this MCO.

Today I'm going to talk about what do I do during this MCO so far. People have been sharing their activities during MCO and I found some to be helpful. Here's mine ;

Making Dalgona Coffee
Day 1 - I started off the day like a usual lazy weekend. On my lazy weekends, I usually start my day with making myself a cup of coffee. However two days before MCO started, Dalgona Coffee started trending on Twitter so I tried making that coffee and now I'm all about the coffee. Luckily Ira, my little sister is home with me so I can ask her to make me one whenever I feel like it because after the first day, I'm too lazy to make my own Dalgona. Hahaha. Joke aside, I'm glad she decided to come to my house a day before MCO started. At least she's not alone without family members at her place.

Here the recipe of the famous Dalgona Coffee in case you can't found one but I doubt it because it's all over the place now. But of course I don't really follow the recipe because I know it'll be too sweet for me.

Dalgona Coffee

Ingredients
2 tea spoon of instant coffee (I use Nescafe Gold)
1 table spoon of sugar (I only put 1/2 table spoon)
2 table spoon of hot water
Fresh milk (I use Magnolia fresh milk)

Directions
Whisk instant coffee, sugar and hot water together until fluffy
Pour fresh milk in a cup/glass
Heat the milk in the microwave if you want it hot (I heated it at 50°C for 2 minutes) or put ice cube in the glass if you want it cold.
Pour the fluffy mixture into the cup/glass of fresh milk
Mix them well before drinking

Reading

On the first day I finished rereading Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince that stuck with me since December last year. Then I started reading Empayar by Teme Abdullah and finished it the next day. I was skeptical about the book at first because the language is too simple. Hahaha. But the strength of Teme Abdullah's writing is not on his words but the storyline. However that's just my opinion. I just read two of his book so far. Empayar and Pelukis Jalanan. Then I tried to pick up Brilliant Blunders where I last stopped and oh boy how I procrastinate from reading because of this book. So I decided to put it back on the shelf and read The Leviathan Wakes instead.

Leviathan Wakes is the first book of The Expanse novel series (the book is adapted into my ultimate favourite TV series) that consist of nine novels. I wanted to read Leviathan Wakes since long time ago but I stop myself each time just because it was at the bottom of my to read list. The reason why it was at the bottom of my to read list is not because I don't like the book but because it was the last book I bought despite my book buying ban and also because I don't want to finish the book without having the second book in my hand. It'll be a torture to have to wait for the second book to arrive. If you don't understand my cycle of thought, here I summarize it for you.

I need to finish all the books I bought earlier than Leviathan Wakes or I won't lift the book buying ban I impose on myself. So if I read Leviathan Wakes first without lifting the book buying ban, I won't be able to buy the second book and that's a torture. I feel like a psycho now after reading these sentences again. Also, since the TV series had just concluded its fourth season, I'm torn between reading the book in sequence according to its adaption on the screen or reading it all in, effectively spoiling the TV series for me. But yesterday I said to myself, let me deal with the torture and dilemma later. I just want to read Leviathan Wakes now! And so I do.

Watching
I know there are a lot of movies and series suggested by netizen but for now I'm content with Itaewon Class and season 4 of 1 Night 2 Days. I only watch them when I'm eating and only finished one episode each feeding sessions. Hahaha. I don't binge watch nowadays because I realized I always keep my hand busy when I'm watching something and the easiest thing to do is playing games on my phone but that didn't only keep my hand busy but also my eyes and attention and I'll neglect whatever movies or series on the TV. But now I'm on episode 10 of Itaewon Class, I'm starting to worry about what to watch next and being a picky watcher doesn't help at all.

Everything else
Other than the above activities, there are also boring activities like vacuuming and mopping the house, pruning and watering the plants, cooking and etc.

What's your activities during this MCO?

Thank you for reading.

Assalamualaikum. Hi.

I'm a homey person. I don't really like going out for no reason and during weekend I'll only do one major activity per day. For example, for me jogging, shopping, going out with friends or family, doing house chores i.e vacuuming and mopping are each one major activity. Let's say I already go for a jog on Saturday, I won't clean the house on Saturday too. The most I can do is fold and iron clothes because I get to sit in front of the TV and watch my favourite shows. TMI, no? Hahaha. I just want to give you clear idea on how calculative I am in planning my weekend because I need enough rest to go through next hectic weekdays.

Yesterday was different. It was a tiring but fun day. Here's what I did yesterday.

Arrif who didn't jog but played games instead

I went for a jog!
I hadn't jog for so long. The last time was about two month ago. I started back during Christmas holiday so yesterday was just my second time. I decided to start jogging again because my stamina has worsen. I'll just climb up few flight of stairs and pant heavily. I always said I'm old but I'm not climb-up-few-stairs-and-pant-heavily old. The second reason would be my skin. It won't stop breaking out no matter what I do. Well, I haven't do everything yet but I did A LOT of things just to make those ugly pimples stop popping up. I keep my skincare basic, I stop using skincare that I think stimulate the breakout and I went to spa to do facial treatment. But then I thought to myself, maybe it's not because of the things I put on my face, maybe it is the things I put in my stomach. Maybe it is my food. But I love my food so much and I'm not ready to sacrifice them hahahaha please don't slap me. So I figure, I need to detox my body (I could hear Arrif voice as I'm typing this, "It doesn't work that way". Go away you and your weird medical journal!). After jogging, we went to my favourite Old Town White Coffee so that I could have my weekly noodle soup and white coffee breakfast fix.

Look at my embarrassing pace

Vacuuming and mopping the house
After we came back home, I started cleaning the house right away. It is better to do it right away while the caffeine concentration in my body still high or else the vacuuming and mopping won't happen. The highlight of this event is ... I just discover how to use the spin mop properly! I'm such a noob. I was frustrated when I first use the mop because it won't spin and dry the mop hair (you know those white strand). I thought I was scammed because it was cheap. I let the spin mop sit in the store room and back at using the traditional mop, wooden stick, manually squeeze the water whatnot. Yesterday I said to myself, I'll give it one more try and so I did. Apparently, you just need to loosen the lock at the stick and push it downward you dumb dumb.

I also realized I have weird soft spot with tiny spiders. I can't stand unorganized and dusty house but I don't mind spider web hahaha. I did sweep all those tiny spider house before but every time I did that and I saw them run, I felt bad so I decided to let them be. I'll just sweep the web if they are not there. Who else have weird soft spot like this?

I rested a bit after all those house chores and read my book while at it

My current read. What's yours?

Went out with my girls
I texted Nee on my way back home after jogging and started the conversation with "Nee watchu duin" and she knew right away I have another 'unplanned plan'. I love this girl. I planned to go to Pasar Seni at first because I never go there but I give her another option, WePlayGames. I also texted Ira, my little sister to check if she's working. Fortunately she was on leave yesterday. Long story short, We decided to go to WePlayGames again and I drove for ~120km in total yesterday, picking up and sent back these bunch. Ooh the things I do for love. Hey I'm not complaining. It was my plan afterall.

Home → Pantai Dalam → LRT Kerinchi → Tamarind Square → LRT Kerinchi → Pantai Dalam → Home

First game. From left ; Nee, Zura, Me and Ira. Zura is Nee's little sister and she and Ira are the same age so they are actually friend.

We chose Catan as our first game and had fun blocking each other from expending our territory and laughing at each other's misery and confusion.

Our second game was Coup where we need to bluff and lie in order to get rid of other player.

I'd say Ira is the best at keeping poker face. It's truly her specialty even in real life. Hahaha. Nee is very good at convincing other people especially her sister. Zura is the most blur among all of us but she almost win during the first round tho. Or did she won? My brain was too tired after these two games, it lost some of the memories during unimportant moments 😝.

I really had a lot of fun yesterday. I think it's okay for me to squeeze everything in a day once in a while if the outcome is great like yesterday.

Now I have ache all over my body so I'm going to take it easy today. I'm sipping some rose honey mint tea (actually it's not fancy as it sound. I just toss some dry rose bud into hot water, add some honey and then put some mint leaves when the water is a warm). Arrif just came back from laundry and brought home McD breakfast. I'm going to have my breakfast first and then fold and iron our clothes while watching New Journey to The West next.

Now tell me, how's your last weekend?

Assalamualaikum. Hi.

There are two types of reader in this world. One who read books with care and one who don't. I was once of those people who read books with care. I hated creased spine the most. I don't remember how does it started but I still remember my first book with underlined sentences and jotted down notes. It was the Why Mars and Venus Collide book. Since then, I don't mind if my books are full with pencil or pen marks. Useful marks and not some random scribble, alright! I also don't mind anymore if my books no longer in pristine condition after I finished reading them.

I just finished re-reading Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix (I read the Bahasa Malaysia version by the way) actually when I noticed how bad the condition of the spine and cover. Every Harry Potter's fans will know that The Order of The Phoenix is the longest and thickest book in Harry Potter series. It was so hard for me to hold the book while reading it because it was heavy and I read everywhere, like literally.  I'd be on the sofa in living room and the next minute I'd be on the bed. Sometimes I walked around the house too while reading. I could go to the kitchen, getting some water and wetted my book. I read in the toilet too sometimes. Please don't judge me 😓.

The old me wouldn't like it. But I grow to love worn out books now. Given I am the one who make those books worn out of course. It just shows that I read them passionately. But I'd still be mad if people borrow my books and don't handle them right. Don't we all hate that? Hahaha. Also, people who fold pages to mark the place they last read are devil.

So what kind of reader are you? Do you scribble useful things on your book? Do you have specific place to read? Are you guilty of reading in the toilet too?

Assalamualaikum. Hi.

Umm, this kind of useless and stupid challenge but I'll write about it anyway.

I'm mostly cashless nowadays. If there were any money left in my purse, they were in RM1 and RM5 notes. That was also the case for yesterday but I need my coffee because I can't survive working days without one (most of the time). I hardly asked Arrif for any money because he already wired me my allowance every month and he paid for almost everything whenever we are out. Let's see my problem here. I wanted coffee, I didn't have cash and too lazy to go to the ATM. Solution? Asked Arrif for  the money hahaha I feel so ashamed as I'm typing this. Since I rarely got cash from Arrif, I felt extemely happy and that's how I made up this Breakfast Challenge to commemorate my happiness I'm such a bimbo OMG

The challenge was to buy breakfast using Arrif's RM10 and maximize my purchase. I think I did a good job, right?

Small Hot Latte RM5.95, Chicken and Egg Sandwich RM3.00

Disclaimer : I usually don't spent this much for breakfast. In fact I don't usually eat during the day on working days except for having coffee (also not everyday).

Hello Potterheads,

Have you watched Fantastic Beasts : The Crimes of Grindewald yet? I watched it last weekend and ooh the adventure. We'll get into that in another post (if I'm not lazy heheh). For now I'm going to write about something else related to Harry Potter universe.

I remember my whatsapp conversation with my best friend, Nee where we talked about our Hogwarts house HAHAHA#&%&#*@hdwjhf. It didn't feel awkward when we discussed but now I'm writing about it I could almost hear how ridiculous we were. But meh, I gotta love what I love.

We were both sorted into Hufflepuff in Pottermore (click the link if you don't know what is Pottermore). I bet because the loves we have towards our food. Hufflepuff common room is located near the kitchen and Helga Hufflepuff (one of Hogwarts founders) was a pro in food related charms if you haven't know. But I told Nee, I'm convinced that I'm a Ravenclaw because I'm a self proclaimed genius bahaha.

Last week, I had some free time so I visit Pottermore and then I remember something. I have two Pottermore accounts. One registered under my old email and the other one under my main email. Now, there was a reason as to why I have two Pottermore accounts. First I registered using my old email but that was a long time ago before Pottermore looks boring like Pottermore today. So I forgot the password and I registered again using my main email. They just started using Sorting Hat at that time. I was into Gryffindor at that time because well, the main characters were from Gryffindor. The greatest wizard, Dumbledore also from Gryffindor. So I answered all the questions so that I'll get sorted into Gryffindor. Turned out I was sorted into Hufflepuff. I think because Hufflepuff's characters is a bit of everyone else. So that's how I get sorted into Hufflepuff. I wasn't happy with the results kahkahkah.

It was years after that, I opened my old email and retrieved my old Pottermore password and I wasn't yet sorted in any houses. So I took the Sorting Hat quiz again. I learned my lessons this time guys, so I answered the questions truthfully hahaha. And I was sorted into Ravenclaw. So yeah, I'm a Ravenclaw.

But then I think I'm also a little bit of Hufflepuff. Anywa, I love Hufflepuff common room. Both the location and interior. Hufflepuff common room is full of plants and I want my house to be full of plants. But I also love Ravenclaw dark blue starry common room. I mean come on, everyone close to me knows I'm obsessed with outerspace. I'm not a fan of Gryffindor and Slytherin common rooms The bright red and yellow really hurts my eyes and the emerald muddy green is too dark. But if I have to choose, Slytherin common room is better.

Since I want to make sure which house I belong to and because I had too much free time hahaha, I took a couple of random Sorting Hat quiz on the internet. I got 3 Ravenclaw and 2 Gryffindor. So yeah it's confirmed. Hahaha.

Please let me know what is your house in Pottermore and which house you really belong to because we all know Sorting Hat sometimes could make mistakes tho it never admitted them 😉.

Thanks for reading (this crap). Bye.

Assalamualaikum. Hi.
I would like to wish all of my blog readers Selamat Hari Raya. May all of you have a very good raya. It's my turn to celebrate first raya with my family this year. So on first raya, after family picture session, me and my family went to visit few relatives. Later that night around 11.00pm, me and Arrif went back to Kelantan. We purposely went back around that time to avoid traffic jam. Heheh.

Below are some pictures from our raya.

Few pictures of our lame attempt to use exposure feature in Arrif's phone. Top picture read SHMZB and bottom is RAYA. This was on the night of first raya. We went out a bit after buka to light up the bunga api. The youngest member in our family is Iqa, aged 17 and there we were playing bunga api. Bunga api only. No mercun involved because we are all chicken. Hahaha.

Family potrait

Beraya with the in laws. This was taken in front of Arrif late grandfather's house. I love how close the house with kampung main road. They said there are pasar malam along the road every week. How convenient!

That's all about my raya. How's your raya?

Assalamualaikum. Hi

This going to be an entry where I justify all of my purchases hahaha so please bear with me. I always opt for online shopping because;

#1 It's convenient
#2 I'm too lazy to go out

But this month I just went overboard (according to my limit) with my online shopping. I usually just buy one or two items the most in a month. Last months, there were four items 😅

SHOES
Bought this for Iqa (my little sister) from Lazada. Iqa is currently staying at the school hostel because she's going to sit for SPM this year. So when she requested to stay at the school hostel, my mum thought why not. With me and Ira are here in Selangor and there is only Angah the workaholic at home, practically there's nobody to monitor her. Also with current school syllabus who are we kidding? We won't be able to catch up. Hahaha. At least at hostel, she's going to have friends to help her with her homework and she will learn to be independent. So there was Iqa in need of new shoes but since it is a hostel we are talking about, a pair of expensive shoes usually won't last long. I'm not saying hostel students are bad but better be safe than sorry right? Asked her to choose one from the Lazada never ending list and she picked this one. Only cost me RM66. It's a size bigger for her but still a good purchase I think. But I will never buy my footwear online because I never know my size. They always change I don't know why.

BOOKS
I found Elon Musk book while I was strolling in MPH Rawang but it was the display and only copy left. So I didn't buy it. Weeks later I search for it again in Popular IOI but I haven't finished reading Endurance and to stay true to my 2018's resolution, to buy only one book at a time, I didn't buy it. I know you might ask what's the point of searching if I don't want to buy it yet? You know, just for assurance that the book is still around. Hahaha. Couple of weeks later, I searched for it in MPH My Town. Found it but I found Artemis first and again to stay true to my 2018's resolution, so I didn't buy it. Later did I know when I was ready for the book, it was gone. Missing from all bookstores (might or might not exaggerate). Long story short, I bought it from MPH online.

Now, about the Harry Potter dengan Batu Hikmat. Go on if you want to judge the title because my husband did laugh at me because I read such lame titles 😤. Now, onto the book, I grew up reading Harry Potter books thanks to my friend (now best friend) who introduced them to me. I borrowed them from her so I make it my dream to collect all of 7 books myself. The problem was, I read Malay version and can't bring myself to read English version. I tried and I cried to the fact English version's cover are cool and beautiful (refer first picture). And mind you, it was so hard looking for Malay version. I know MPH carry the books because I bought the last book (Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows or Harry Potter dan Azimat Maut) when I was in matriculation. Long story short, I broke my to-buy-one-book-at-a-time promise by purchasing this together with Elon Musk.

Btw, I usually buy books from physical bookstores because bookstores smells so good. Who agree with me?

BLOUSE
I'm sorry I don't do #OOTD but I do #FOTD so here's the blouse picture together with yummy mee tarik I ate in IOI City last weekend. Oh my oh my I'm drooling. Bought the dress from this ig shop @deroseshop. The blouse was on sale. I bought it for RM30. An absolute steal! Okay now let us appreciate those meat cubes shall we?

SKINCARE
I went to literally every pharmacy and drugstore in every malls I visited to buy Cetaphil Gentle cleanser because I almost finished my bottle. But it was sold out everywhere thanks to Cetaphil latest marketing strategy. I saw their ads and review almost everywhere on the net. But obviously they can't cope with all the demand 😪.  So I bought it from Shopee. Another product I got from Shopee is Garnier Micellar Water. Bought it after reading all the review heheh. This was my first time buying items from Shopee and the package was oily and smell like traditional ointment. I don't know who's fault it was, Shopee or Pos Laju but I pity the receiver of the broken package.

So now I'm looking for outer wear i.e jacket, cardigan, casual blazer. Please comment down below if you have any suggestion. Hahaha. And please let me know if you also shop online unnecessarily and what was the last thing you bought online so that I won't feel guilty alone.

Assalamualaikum. Hi.

I was watching Stranger Things with Arrif and it was the scene where they went to the arcade to play Dig Dug. I remembered playing Dig Dug during my childhood so I asked Arrif if he ever played Dig Dug before and he said he never played it. My husband is an avid gamer but he's a gamer who never played classic games like Dig Dug. That mean, I became a gamer before he did because his first game was a PC game and I played console games since I was four or five years old. I laughed hysterically because I know I won another competition. We compete over silly things like this. Please don't judge us. But he said he's into PC master race since day one *rolls eyes.

I'm feeling a little bit nostalgic today so I'm going to compile some of NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) games I (and my siblings and my parents 😑) played.

This was the console where I played all the games. Mine was grey instead of red. It's called FAMICOM but of course I just know it's called FAMICOM when I searched for the picture. I just called it video game my entire life. Hahaha. Picture credit nintendolife

DIG DUG
Here's the game which triggered this entry. The goal of this game is to kill all those monsters by dropping the stones on them or use the weapon. I think the weapon is tire air pump (?) because the monsters will explode after you use the weapon on them. And you get flower each time you win a level. Of course I never get the biggest flower. Never knew it exist until I saw this picture. Hahaha. Picture credit GameLand Island

BALLOON FIGHT
This game's goal is to pop all bad men's balloon and push them into the sea before they pop yours. All this time I thought those bad men was bird+human hybrid because of the mask. Just now I realize they are men wearing mask. My whole life is a lie! Picture credit PanDamist

BOMBERMAN
For this game, you need to kill those monsters using bomb and when all the monsters are gone, you still need to keep on bombing to find a door for you to escape. The bomberman looks like a ninja and I don't know why I think he's the bad guy. I mean he go to the monsters house and kill them. For what? Picture credit Game Zone

CIRCUS CHARLIE
This game is abusive! Hahaha. I just realize it now. This is a game where the child need to pass rings of fire and fire goblet (?) while riding a lion. On the next level, the child need to jump on a rope while avoiding monkeys. There are different obstacles on different level. I never played the horse level tho. Just know that level exist when I watch the video on YouTube. Hahaha. Picture credit KusaNakuAfal

CONTRA
I'm sure most people know about this game. And it's hard to imagine other people except Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone when you see the start page of this game. I played this game a lot just because my brother always wanted to play this. He could play alone but I want to play too! Hahaha. So there we were sitting in front of TV with me constantly nagged him to wait for me just because he was always in front erghhh. Picture credit GAMECRATE

DONKEY KONG 3
I didn't play this game that often. But my brother loved it. So I'll just sat next to him waiting patiently for my turn to play another game. Hahaha. I still don't understand why you want to disturb a king kong until he's mad. But I think the weapon is to remove the caterpillar, no? I really don't remember much about this game. Picture credit RETRO GAMES ONLINE

EXCITEBIKE
This was my brother another favourite. Boys right? This is just the normal motor race game. You compete with other racer. I think there are also marks for stunt. I played this too sometimes but yeah and I remember I ended up on the grass and went really slow to the finish line hahaha. Picture credit EMUPARADISE

ICE CLIMBER
Behold one of my favourite! The goal of this game is to reach to the top and catch a bird legs and maybe the bird will fly you home? I don't know where the big will fly you to. Hahaha. But you must avoid the penguin because you could die if you touch the penguin. I knowww, why would you die because of a penguin. They are cute creatures. But everytime you knock the block to go up, the penguin will close it back using block of ice because the penguin need to cross the road. Like hello, who's the bad guy now? I don't think those penguins are bad guy. Picture credit arronmunroe

LODE RUNNER
This game has cute sound and background music. It's sounds like penguin waddling whenever the character's move. The goal of this game is for you to collect the gold sand while avoiding bad men ninjas or kill them by burying them using the brick. Oh lord, is this another game where you are actually the bad guy?  Picture credit wakinchou

POPEYE
Even if you never played this game, you must have watched this cartoon right? The storyline is the same with cartoon. Popeye need to save rescue his girlfriend, Olive Oyl (ooh what a pun) from Bluto by catching flying obejcts (?) produce by Olive until the box on top is full of it. If only Popeye eat spinach which will appear randomly then he is strong enough to beat Bluto. Picture credit Old Classic Retro Gaming

SUPER MARIO BROS.
I'm sure everyone know this game. Avoid or kill moving mushrooms and sometimes turtles. Collect coins while you are on your way to save Princess Peach. Picture credit Nintendo

TWINBEE
I loveeed this game because it's so cute. To quote the TwinBee wiki, TwinBee is a vertical scrolling shoot 'em up that is unlike any others during the time. Instead of "gritty" alien and military plane shooters, Konami decided to make a very cutesy shoot 'em up that retains all of the fun of others it its genre, but paints it with a thick coat of famed Japanese cuteness. You can also play multiplayer with second ship in pink named WinBee. I usually played this with my brother since I want the pink ship. Hahaha. Their enemies are regular household items like flying radish, flying strawberries and flying plate. I know 😑 but cuteeee. Picture credit GIANT BOMB

There are many more games that I played but there's no way I could recall all of them. Have you played any of these games?
